What is the main difference between 2D and 3D wire bending?

2D wire bending machines are used for production where the part is formed primarily within a single plane. Although bending points may have different angles, the geometry of the part largely remains in the same plane.

3D wire bending machines can rotate the wire across different axes to create spatial geometries. This enables the production of more complex forms used in automotive, home appliances, furniture, retail equipment and custom metal components.
